Floyd Tyler, Ph.D., CFA
President and Chief Investment Officer
Dr. Tyler founded PreserverPartners, LLC in July 2009 and serves as the Chief Investment Officer and Portfolio Manager for all Preserver funds. Prior to Preserver, he was a Partner at Gerber/Taylor Capital Advisors, a consulting and fund management firm, and President and Director of Research of its $13 billion institutional consulting subsidiary from 1999-2009. From 1996-1999, Dr. Tyler was an Assistant Professor of Finance at the University of Memphis. He is a CFA charterholder and holds a B.B.A in Economics from The University of Tennessee, a Master of Science from Carnegie Mellon University and a Ph.D. in Finance from The Florida State University. Dr. Tyler currently serves on the Tri-State Bank of Memphis board.
Chief Operating Officer and Chief Compliance Officer
Dana Pointer joined Preserver in February 2010 and serves as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Compliance Officer. Prior to joining the firm, she served as Vice President and Compliance Officer for FTN Financial Capital Markets from 1994-2010, a national broker-dealer. She also served as Chief Compliance Officer for Channing Capital Management LLC, a private investment management firm in Chicago, IL from 2003-2005. Dana earned a B.B.A. in Accounting from The University of Tennessee.
Dana oversees firm-wide management, compliance, strategic planning, investor relations, and the distribution of Preserver’s investment products. In addition to her general management responsibilities, she also serves as the firm’s Controller overseeing financial management.
Dana currently serves as a Board member of RISE Foundation of Memphis and also serves on the Financial Review Board and Grants Committee for The Women’s Foundation of Greater Memphis. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Leadership Memphis Executive Class of 2013 and St. Andrew AME Church. She is married to Leviticus Pointer and has two children, Landon and Demi.
Lara Payne joined Preserver in July 2012 and serves as Senior Analyst. She earned a B.B.A in Finance from The University of Tennessee at Martin. Lara manages the firm’s operational due diligence. She also offers analytical support to the firm’s the investment team as well as assists in various compliance and back office functions.
Lara currently serves on the Asset Allocation Committee for the United Way of the Mid-South and as Treasurer for the JLM Memphis Women’s Summit. She enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her dog, Penny.
John “Mick” Clowers, CFA, CFP
Senior Investment Associate
John “Mick” Clowers joined Preserver in February 2018 and serves as Senior Investment Associate. Mick works closely with the Chief Investment Officer and Operational Due Diligence team to conduct investment research on new and existing investments through fundamental and quantitative analysis. He graduated from the University of Memphis with a B.B.A. in Finance.
Mick currently attends Downtown Church with his wife and two children.
Christina Cavazos Bennett
Mrs. Bennett joined Preserver in January 2013. She is responsible for leading Preserver’s marketing efforts to institutional and high net-worth investors with a focus on Midwestern states. She has over 20 years of experience in the banking and financial service industries including positions in middle market lending, credit underwriting, wealth management, and trust. Mrs. Bennett earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from The University of California at Santa Cruz and a Master of Arts in International Affairs from The George Washington University.
Senior Marketing and Investor Relations Associate
Rhonda Langston joined Preserver in May 2019 and serves as Senior Marketing and Investor Relations Associate. Prior to joining the firm, Rhonda spent six years as a Senior Communications Specialist for Memphis, Light, Gas & Water and two years prior as a Communications Coordinator for Baptist Memorial Health Care.
Rhonda manages the firm’s marketing strategy and investor relations program. She is a native Memphian and earned a B.S. in Mass Communications from Middle Tennessee State University and an M.A. in Corporate Communications from Austin Peay State University.
Rhonda is a member of First Baptist Church-Broad, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Public Relations Society of America-Memphis chapter, NEXUS Leaders class of 2013 and is an alumna of the Memphis PREP program. She is married to Tito Langston and has two children, Tito II, and Kinsley.
