Dana Pointer
Chief Executive Officer
As CEO, Dana is responsible for firm-wide management, business development, strategic planning, and investor relations. Prior to becoming CEO, Dana served as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Compliance Officer leading firm operations and its compliance program from Preserver’s inception in 2010 until the passing of the late Dr. Floyd Tyler, Preserver’s Founder, in January 2023.
Prior to joining Preserver Partners, she spent 15 years serving as Vice President for FTN Financial Capital Markets, a national broker-dealer. Dana also served as Chief Compliance Officer for Channing Capital Management from 2003-2005. Dana earned a BBA in Accounting from The University of Tennessee.
Dana has a deep passion for philanthropy and community service in financial literacy and economic empowerment and currently serves as a Board member for the RISE Foundation of Memphis, Center City Revenue Finance Corp, and Community Lift. She also serves on the Women’s Foundation of Greater Memphis Financial Review Board & Grants Committee, Benedict College’s Burroughs Business School Advisory Board, and the Diversity Committee for Downtown Memphis Commission. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and Leadership Memphis Executive Class of 2013.
Caroline Lovelace
Chief Investment Officer & Co-Portfolio Manager
Caroline joined Preserver in 2023. As Chief Investment Officer and Co-Portfolio Manager, Caroline oversees all investments for the firm’s managed portfolios, focusing on portfolio construction, manager selection and risk management.
Prior to joining the firm, she managed multi-asset class and multi-manager portfolios with a focus on alternatives, particularly hedge funds and private equity. She worked as a senior executive and member of the Investment Committee of Appomattox, a New York-based Outsourced Chief Investment Officer firm. Caroline also founded of Rose Hill Park Alternative Asset Managers, whose core strategy is to direct seed and acceleration capital to new and emerging hedge fund and private equity managers, with a focus on diverse managers. She has advised, both informally and formally, nascent alternative investment managers on business strategy and operational issues. She was a founding partner and Co-Portfolio Manager of Pine Street Alternative Asset Management. Before Pine Street, she was Managing Director of Provident Group Asset Management (“PGAM”) responsible for hedge fund research, portfolio construction, new manager selection, and oversight of the investment and due diligence process.
Caroline earned a B.A. in Economics from Harvard University and an MBA in Finance from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Caroline currently serves on the advisory board of a climate change-oriented hedge fund and advisory firm as well as the investment committee of an ESG-oriented foundation. Further, she co-chairs High-Water Women’s ESG Webinar Series, Accelerating for Impact, now a part of 100 Women In Finance.
John “Mick” Clowers, CFA, CFP
Director of Investment Research & Co-Portfolio Manager
Mick joined Preserver in 2018 and serves as the Director of Investment Research and Co-Portfolio Manager. Mick works on the Investment Team and provides leadership through manager due diligence, investment monitoring and portfolio construction. Prior to joining Preserver, Mick served as a Portfolio Manager (2011-2017) and the Director of Portfolio Management (2017-2018) at Legacy Wealth Management. He graduated from the University of Memphis with a B.B.A. in Finance. He obtained a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM certification in 2014 and has been a CFA® charterholder since 2016.
Lara Payne, IACCP
Director of Operational Risk Management
Lara joined Preserver in 2012 and serves as Director of Operational Risk Management. She earned a B.B.A in Finance from The University of Tennessee at Martin. Lara leads the firm’s operational due diligence. She offers analytical support to the firm’s investment team as well as assists in various compliance and back office functions. Lara is also a FINRA Dispute Resolution Arbitrator, having qualified through the National FINRA Arbitration and Mediation Committee. She earned and maintains the Investment Adviser Certified Compliance Professional designation.
Terini Dewberry
Marketing Assistant
Terini joined Preserver in 2021 and serves as Marketing Assistant overseeing all marketing avenues of Preserver Partners and Preserver Partners Foundation. She earned a B.A. in Marketing from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and maintains several certifications relevant to analytics and content marketing. She served as 2018-2019 Marketing Chair for the student chapter of National Association of Black Accountants and Campus Activities Board from 2017-2018. She is a current member of American Marketing Association. Terini manages Preserver’s social media content, web maintenance, marketing materials, and events. She joined the firm with four years of marketing, analytics, and social media experience from several relevant internships.
